About Catwalk Capture
> Catwalk Capture is a picture library supplying runway fashion images to publications for journalistic use.
> Images may be used in editorial articles in printed publications and on websites, and may be also used for research.
> Images can be downloaded instantly from our site, or sent directly to your FTP server.
We are an ethical company that believes in corporate responsibility as a means of positive change . We donate a proportion of our profits to charity and run sponsorship programmes in the fashion industry sector.
We sell usage rights for the images we offer, known as a rights managed licence. This restricts the usage to that within the terms of the licence, and there is no transfer of copyright. More details of our licence agreement is here. Our images are intended for editorial use only.
Images licensed for print use are ONE TIME USE only. This means they may be used once in one publication. Further use of the image require additional licences.
Images licensed for web use can be used on one domain only (i.e. www.yourdomainname.com). They can be used on as many web pages within that domain as you like, but only for editorial purposes.
The rights to use an image may be purchased on a per-image basis, or by subscription which offers savings against the per-image cost.
All images on this website are copyrighted. Any unauthorised copying, usage and/or distribution is strictly prohibited.
We cover major fashion events in London, such as London Fashion Week, Graduate Fashion Week, Pure London, as well as individual designers shows.
Our photographers are also available for commission to cover shows, and can be commissioned by editors of publications, designers, show organisers, PR etc. The commissioning client will receive all images of the show free of charge. Please use the contact us page to make an enquiry about commissioning.
Image Supply Options
Images are supplied either in print form (300dpi) or web form (72dpi) in JPEG format using the RGB colourspace. In print form, the images are 2200x3306 pixels unless otherwise stated, and in web format there are three size options: 400x600, 800x1200 or 1600x2400 pixels (nominal).
When you add an image to your shopping cart you are asked to choose the image size you require relevant to the intended use.
After checkout the images you have bought licences for will be available for instant download - see the My Account section below in the "How to use this site" guide. Image downloads are in zip format, if there are mutliple images in your order they will be combined into one zip file. The zip file will also contain a copy of our licence agreement.

How to use this site
Finding Images
The image library is organised into galleries representing a fashion event, for example London Fashion Week SS12 is a gallery. The main page shows the available galleries, organised with the latest gallery first. You can open a gallery by clicking on its icon or name - this will then display the designers' shows available within that gallery. Clicking on a show gallery will display the images avaiable for that show.
There is also an expandable tree listing of the available shows on the right hand side of each page, allowing you to navigate to a particular show.
The gallery menu also allows you to drill down to a particular show by following the "Shows/Designers" menu item.
Also under the gallery menu item are two options for jumping straight to par
ticular designers. The first one is the "quick links" item which lists all the designers oraganised by event, and the second is an alphabetical list of all designers within the library.
Searching
Instead of navigating to a particular show to find images, you can use the search tools to find them. There are two search tools available: quick search and advanced search.
> Quick Search - The quick search facility lets you enter words to look for in the image library's database. The search will look in the image description, keywords, title and reference number for the words entered into the search box. If you enter multiple words into the search box, by default the search will return images that contain any of the words. For example entering "London SS12" into the search box will return all images that have either "London" or "SS12" in their properties.
You can specify that the results should contain all of the words by prefixing the word with a plus-sign (+). Note that there should be no space between the plus-sign and the search work, e.g. "London +SS12" will search for all images with the words "London" and "SS12".
You can also exclude certain words from the search by prefixing the search words with a minus-sign (-), e.g. "London -SS12" will return all images with "London" in their search terms but exclude any with "SS12".
For more advanced searching use the advanced search facility.
align: left;">> Advanced Search - the advanced search facility offers options allowing you to choose which operand you want to use for your searches.
There are three options available.
-
Match at least one keyword The system will return results for any media that contain either one of the input keywords in its properties.
-
Match all keywords The system will only return results for any media that contain all input keywords in its properties.
-
Match exact phrase The system will only return results for any media that contains the exact input keyword phrase in its properties.
Registration
In order to purchase image licences you need to register with the site.
The registration details will be used in the invoice which links to the image licence, so please ensure this is accurate.
Lightboxes
Lightboxes allow you to group selected images into your own temporary gallery. You then have the option to send a link to your lightbox to another person so they can view the images, or you can select images to purchase licences for. You can add comments to the images in your lightbox. You can also set-up multiple lightboxes to allow for further sub-grouping of images.
On each image thumbnail and each image detail page there is a button to add an image to a lightbox. If you have mutliple lightboxes you will be asked to select which one to add the image to, and you can also create a new lightbox to add the image into.
If an image is already in a lightbox, the lightbox button functionality changes to remove the image from the lightbox - shown by the minus sign in the button.
The lightbox menu item allows you to manage your lightbox, with the follwing functions:
- Edit the lightbox name
- Send the lightbox to another person
- Remove individual images from the lightbox
- Empty the lightbox (remove all images)
- Add comments against an image.
- Request a quote for usage not covered by the normal Catwalk Capture licence.
- Add images to the shopping cart.
Image Details
When viewing image details there are a number of actions that you can do indicated by the row of buttons above the image:
- Return to thumbnail listing
- Request a quote - for special use not covered by our editorial licence agreement
- Download a low res comp version of the image
- Add the image to your lightbox
Under the image the options for purchasing a licence to use the image will be displayed, and information about the image, such as its name, description, keywords, copyright holder, credit line and reference number.
Shopping Cart
If you have added images to your shopping cart, they will be listed here. You can remove images from the cart or proceed to checkout to purchase the licences.
Payment Method
Your payment method is shown at the top of each page just under the menu.
The default payment method is PPP (pay per purchase). If you have a valid subscription you can change the default payment method by clicking on the payment method link and choosing from the list of options.
To buy a subscription, use the "Buy Credits or Subscribe" menu item.
Checking Out
In the shopping cart, use the Checkout button to make your purchase. Note you must check the checkbox against the4 licence agreement to indicate that you accept the licence. You can view the licence by clicking on the link.
If you have chosen the PPP (Pay Per Purchase) option to buy image licences, the checkout page gives you the option of using one of these services to complete the payment: Pay Pal or Google Checkout.
If you have a subscription and have chosen to use it, the purchase will be completed either using available credits or under the remaining period for a duration subscription.
Once the payment is complete you will be directed to your account page where the download link for your order will be activated to allow you to download your licensed images.
My Account
The "My Account" page lists all orders you have made, and allows you to view and print invoices.
C
ompleted orders will show a download link for the images licensed in the order.
NOTE: Download links for licensed images remain active for 21 days. After 21 days the link is removed.
Orders which have an outstanding payment will show the coins icon.

2.2 Use of the Licensed Material is strictly limited to editorial use on Licensed Platform and any other restrictions specified in the Rights and Restrictions. Licensee may utilise the Licensed Material in any production process as may be necessary for the intended use specified in the Rights and Restrictions, including as set forth in Section 2.1 above. Nothing in this Section 2.10 shall excuse Purchaser's obligation to make payment to Catwalk Capture of the Licence Fee.
2.12 Licensee may not falsely represent, expressly or impliedly, that Licensee is the original creator of a visual work that derives a substantial part of its artistic components from the Licensed Material.
2.13 If the Rights and Restrictions include website use, Licensee shall post terms and conditions on its permitted websites that include restrictions on downloading the Licensed Material for purposes other than personal use, and prohibit republication, retransmission, reproduction or other use of the Licensed Material.
